The SELF Research Conferences are unique in that they
  • focus exclusively on self-concept and related constructs,
  • contrast different views and different disciplines,
  • integrate theory and practice.

A special focus of the 2009 SELF Research Conference will be on different research traditions that drive self-concept research. We aim to bring together researchers who deal with self-concept, self-esteem, self-efficacy, identity, implicit measures of self and Identity, and the social psychology of self-concept.

Keynote addresses

Keynote addresses will be delivered by leading international researchers. We will probe questions such as: “What are the common grounds and where are the important differences between the leading theories?" "What are the antecedents of self-concept and how do different measures of self-concept relate to behavior in and outside educational settings?" Where does self identity fit in the globalization.

By bringing together different research traditions, we will generate stimulating and insightful discussions that will prove fruitful, if at times controversial.
